We received EDDC Chairman’s Best Community Group Award this year

We were delighted to welcome the Chairman of EDDC, Cllr David Shortell and his wife Liz when they visited our Friday evening Community Caff being held at our centre – locally known as the Turbary Resource Centre here on the Heatherlands estate in Ferndown.

The Caff provides wholesome, healthy, value-for-money meals for anyone who would like to attend but especially for our CAP* debt clients and their volunteer befrienders.  The relaxed atmosphere enables everyone to chat, socialise and to share their experiences.

Cllr David had recently presented our CAP Befriender Team with his EDDC Chairman’s Best Community Group of the Year Award and it was great that he could meet some of the members of the team “on the ground”.

CAP – Christians Against Poverty is an international organisation offering free help and advice to anyone struggling with crippling debt issues.  The East Dorset (and Ringwood) CAP Centre can be contacted via the CAP Head Office on 01274 760720.
