Video showing a snapshot of The Bus Stop Club response to Covid-19

Here at the Turbary Resource Centre on the Heatherlands Estate we have been supporting local people in and around Ferndown and the surrounding area delivering freshly cooked lunch time meals and groceries during these weeks.

We thank all those who have supported this initiative, particularly the monetary donations received from local businesses, which provided the cash to start this project. The donations of food came from local food stores – Sainsburys through our collection box and some direct from the store, regular fare share donations from Tesco at West Parley, and weekly donations from Lidl through the neighbourly scheme. In addition there were store cupboard food and cash donations from the local church congregations.

Last but certainly not least, we thank our volunteers who delivered the meals with cheer, which really helped make people’s day during a long lockdown.

Christmas Hampers for local community 2019

In early December, volunteers from the CAP supporters team, ladies from Ageas Insurance and the Ferndown Fire and Rescue Service came together and covered large boxes with wrapping paper, assembling over 35 hampers with Christmas goodies for distribution to CAP clients and local families within the community.

The teams worked in two shifts with a break for a light lunch midway.

Many thanks go to all the organisations and individuals who kindly donated items which provided a wonderful selection of luxury treats as well as practical food stuffs for the many hampers given out to families within the local community in the lead up to Christmas Day.

Christmas hamper

Christmas hampers 2018

Volunteers were busy at the Bus Stop Club wrapping boxes and packing them full of Christmas goodies for local people and CAP clients.

The day started with boxes piled up waiting to be wrapped in Christmas paper and then distributed among the tables ready to be filled from donations from various organisations, local churches and individual people. Over 40 boxes were filled and there was plenty to go around.

We would like to thank all those who contributed gifts and Christmas food items and those who volunteered on the day to wrap and pack hampers. We would like to thank those organisations that have been helping on the ‘wrapping day’ over several years – your help is appreciated.

A special thank you goes out to the smallChristmas hampers packed band of people who delivered the hampers to families in Ferndown, Wimborne, West Moors, Three Legged Cross, Verwood and Ringwood.Christmas hampers and extra food ready to go
