CAP’s Heaped Christmas Hampers!

At Christmas our East Dorset CAP Debt Centre was supplied with generous donations of groceries, Christmas items, treats and finance for purchasing personalised gifts. It is all thanks to local stores, churches and individuals that Christmas was made that much more special for those we support. This enabled us to supply both a Christmas hamper plus a groceries hamper to each of our client’s who are working their way through their respective journeys out of debt.

Executing such a great project would not have been possible without our small band of amazing volunteers giving their time and petrol. Not only did they help sort and assemble all these hampers, but helped Pam, the local Centre Manager for Christians Against Poverty, to deliver these to each household in the run up to Christmas.

A big thank you goes to Stone Family Butchers in Ferndown who donated 24 chickens, which we delivered to our clients on Christmas Eve! We are sincerely grateful to Sainsbury’s for a grant with which we purchased a slow cooker for each family to support their budgets and help reduce cooking fuel bills.

Here’s what some families said:

The presents and food was amazing, it saved Christmas! Thank you!

The chicken is great as we don’t like the taste of turkey, thank you very much!

We were overwhelmed with the gifts!… Thank you all very much and we wish you all a lovely Christmas.

From the staff and team at CAP East Dorset, Bearwood and Ringwood – thank you to all who made this initiative possible!

Christmas News and Thank You!

Dear friends and supporters of the Bus Stop Club

We have come through another year of change – and thanks to our trustees,
management board, staff, volunteers and supporters we have been able to adapt and
respond to the changing needs of our local community.

Highlights of the year:

More CAP debt clients have received support this year in various practical ways, with
many becoming debt free. What an achievement!

We have offered 1:1 mental health coaching sessions for those seeking to manage and reduce levels of anxiety and recover from the historic effects of unresolved trauma. This programme continues into 2022.

• Our Food Store Cupboard has been open to the public 9 – 11am every morning. Thanks to donations of food and household items from local stores, churches and individuals, our Store Cupboard has been open to the public 9 – 11am Monday to Friday during term time.

Individuals and families with complex needs have been supported by the staff and
volunteers.

• Christmas hampers, groceries, treats and craft bags have gone out to CAP and other clients over the Christmas period.

Your help this year has made such a difference – THANK YOU so very much for your support.
